| Defensive Handgun One. | |||||
|
The
development of defensive pistol craft skills is highly important for
self-defense. This 18 hour course provides the student with the
necessary building blocks for success. Course
fee: $250.00 per student Students attending the
Defensive Handgun I course will be exposed to the following concepts of
defensive pistol craft. ·
The basic fundamentals of marksmanship ·
The principals of self-defense ·
Selection of a defensive handgun ·
Proper car and lubrication of the defensive handgun ·
Selection of holsters and related gear ·
Manipulation of the handgun, to include: ·
The four point draw ·
Administrative loading of the pistol ·
Emergency (slide lock) reloading of the pistol ·
The tactical reload ·
Malfunction clearance ·
The retention position and live fire from this shooting
position. ·
Proper use of cover ·
Proper search techniques. ·
Tactical movement ·
Shooting on the move ·
Standard response to a threat ·
Non-standard response to a threat ·
Alternate shooting positions ·
The development of combat accuracy via: ·
Multiple range exercises at close quarters distance. ·
Multiple range exercises at distance ·
Multiple qualification courses in which students must meet
or exceed established standards of qualification for law enforcement
agencies. ·
All scores fired in this section are recorded in order to
provide a record of student proficiency. ·
Qualification standards are approximately 70% to 85% ·
Multiple range exercises requiring movement, movement to
cover and the use of alternate shooting positions. ·
