  Defensive Carbine one  

 

Students attending the Defensive Carbine I course will be exposed to the following concepts of defensive Carbine operation.

  1. The basic fundamentals of marksmanship

  2. The principals of self-defense

  3. Selection of a defensive Carbine

  4. Proper care and lubrication of the defensive Carbine

  5. Selection of tactical slings and related gear

  6. Manipulation of the Carbine, to include:

The Battle sight zero
Emergency reloading
The tactical reload
Malfunction clearance
Correct manipulation technique to charge the rifle

   7.   Proper use of cover   

    8.    Proper search techniques.

   9.   Tactical movement

 10.   Shooting on the move

 11.   Standard response to a threat

 12.   Non-standard response to a threat

 13.   Alternate shooting positions

 14.   The development of combat accuracy via:

Multiple range exercises at close quarters distance.
Multiple range exercises at distance
Multiple qualification courses in which students must meet or exceed established standards of qualification.
Multiple range exercises requiring movement, movement to cover and the use of alternate shooting positions.
 

 15.  Multiple qualification type courses, requiring the student to score a minimum score of 80%.
